Hughes with the eyes of justification in the third killing trial

If Robert De Hughes enters the trial for the third time, the taxpayers in Dilayer will have to pay to defend-as well as for the trial-a former Melford teacher who was convicted twice of the first degree killing in the death of his wife in 1976.

“There is absolutely no way that I can pay for a third trial,” Hughes said during an interview with him this week at the Dilayer Reform Center.
