Beijing (AP)-China announced on Saturday about revenge definitions in some Canadian farms and food imports, after Canada imposed duties in October on Chinese electric cars, steel and aluminum products.
The new duties are valid on March 20, according to a statement issued by the Customs tariff committee of the State Council. An additional 100 % tariff will be imposed on Canadian oil, oil cakes and peas, and an additional 25 % tariff will be applied to pork and water products.
Definitions add to global trade tensions already high, with rounds of tariff advertisements confiscated by the United States, China, Canada and Mexico.

Duties come in revenge on Ottawa, which imposes a tariff against Chinese imports in October, including a 100 % magic tax on all Chinese Chinese EV and 25 % on steel and aluminum imports.
“Despite China’s repeated opposition and the opening, Canada has made restrictions unilaterally on electric, steel, aluminum and other products imported from China without achieving, undermining economic and trade relations in China and trade,” the statement was read by the customs authorities.
He added that the decision to impose retaliatory duties comes after “achieving combating discrimination, which discovered that the restrictions in Canada against some Chinese products have disrupted the natural trade order and harmed the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese institutions.”
Canada announced the definitions of Chinese goods last August after similar duties imposed by the United States, the European Union against Chinese EVS and other products. Western governments say China’s subsidies give their industry an unfair advantage.
