New York firefighters shot a brush that diminished in a tree from Long Island on Sunday, as officials warned that wind phone can leave the area vulnerable to the additional flame.
State Governor Cathy Hochol announced the state of emergency one day ago after four separate fires erupted across large areas of Payne Barnes in Long Island, which led to the closure of the highway and the evacuation of a military base.
As of Sunday, all visual fire, including the last fire burning in the village of Westhampton, was demolished, according to the extinguishing coordinator of Suffolk Rudi Cindyman. He said at a press conference on Sunday that the crews were working on firing lines around the fire to prevent further spread. The authorities said that the fire did not grow from early on Sunday.
However, the officials were cautious as it was expected to reach 30 miles per hour (48 km) on Sunday, according to the National weather service,
“We are worried because the wind is still blowing, it may arouse again,” said Ed Roman, CEO of Suffolk Province.
Roman thanked the firefighters who worked all night, adding that more than 80 of the volunteer fire sections fought the fire, which burned about 600 acres (243 hectares).
Two firefighters were transferred to the hospital for injuries and release, according to Conderman.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
Dozens of investigators had an interview with 911 calles and the use of drones. Suffolk Provincial officials said earlier that the Duble Doubling Squad of the Ministry of Police had started an investigation into the fire, although there is no immediate evidence indicating deliberate burning.
“We will reach the bottom of what happened,” said Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina. “At this time, it is too early to know whether or not this fire started, or that there is some evil origin.”
At least two commercial structures were damaged.
Daniel J. Baniko, supervisor of Brockhavin, officials were watching a small fire along the Sunrise Highway early on Sunday, about 15 miles (24 km) west, watching a small fire along the Sunrise Highway early on Sunday. But there were no clear fire from Sunday morning.
